Karen has an illustrious career spanning over 36 years with the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (IRBM). During her tenure, she handled diverse tax domains, including Personal Tax, Corporate Tax, Withholding Tax, Real Property Gains Tax, and Stamp Duty. She gained vast experience as a tax auditor, investigator, and trainer across various branches and divisions of IRBM.
Her last posting was as the Director of IRBM’s Large Taxpayer Branch, where she oversaw the tax affairs of domestic and international corporations, multinationals, high-net-worth individuals, trusts, cooperatives, and other categories of taxpayers.
Following her retirement, Karen felt a strong desire to continue contributing to the business community by reaching out to the masses and helping enterprises, from large corporations to SMEs, navigate the complex and ever-evolving tax landscape. She also wanted to act as a bridge between the IRBM and taxpayers, fostering understanding and collaboration to achieve greater compliance and smoother tax processes. This motivation led her, together with Mr. Kee, to found KNK in 2019. Since its establishment, Karen has grown KNK from a two-person operation into a firm with over five partners. Each partner was personally handpicked by Karen for their dedication to clients and commitment to delivering an exceptional level of service.
Karen graduated from the University of Malaya with a Bachelor of Accounting. She is a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants, a Fellow Member of the Chartered Tax Institute of Malaysia, and a Registered Tax Agent. She is also a Certified Training Professional (ARTDO), Certified Fraud Examiner (ACFE, Austin, Texas), Certified System Investigator (ACSI, Singapore), and Certified Financial Planner (FPAM). Licensed tax agent under Section 153(3) ITA 1967 and approved HRDF trainer.
Kee is one of the founding partners of KNK Tax Advisory Services PLT. With over 11 years of experience in corporate tax, personal tax, expatriate tax, and indirect taxes such as GST and SST, Kee is a licensed GST Tax Agent and has successfully managed a variety of direct and indirect tax cases throughout his career.
Kee is also the Chief Executive Officer of Nusa Kapital, a Shariah-compliant peer-to-peer crowdfunding platform in Malaysia. In his role at Nusa Kapital, Kee focuses on enhancing financial inclusion for small and micro businesses, leveraging innovative technologies such as blockchain (Triple Entries Accounting), Virtual Reality Technology, Internet of Things applications, and O2O (Online to Offline) platforms to drive efficiency and value creation.
Kee has played a pivotal role in taxation, accounting, and business projects across diverse industries, including construction, manufacturing, services, transport, oil & gas, wholesale, agriculture, and retail. In 2013–2014, he successfully led the merger and acquisition of a branch office, where he served as head for 10 years. Under his leadership, the branch experienced significant growth, expanding its client base from an initial 10 to over 500 clients. He was responsible for overseeing operations, restructuring, and driving business development during this transformative period.
Early in his career, Kee honed his skills in financial accounting, auditing, and taxation, establishing himself as a trusted and credible accountant and tax representative for clients and associates. His diligence and expertise earned him recognition as a speaker and panellist for numerous GST awareness sessions from 2015 to 2018, co-organised by the Royal Malaysian Customs Department (RMCD) and the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (IRBM).

Woon Chee is a chartered accountant and tax advisor with over 15 years of experience, including tenure at one of the Big 4 accounting firms and as the Head of Tax for a leading regional corporate service firm in Malaysia. Her extensive expertise spans a wide range of industries, including construction, property development, hospitality, logistics, plantation, manufacturing, education, IT, and food & beverage.
She is well-versed in managing various tax engagements, including corporate and individual taxes, partnership and foundation tax compliance, e-invoicing implementation projects, tax incentives and exemptions, tax health checks, audits and due diligence, as well as immigration and licensing matters.
As a key speaker and regular trainer, Woon Chee has conducted numerous tax webinars and seminars, covering topics such as budget highlights, tax updates, withholding tax, e-invoicing, and other tax-related subjects. Woon Chee is a Licensed Tax Agent under Section 153 of the Income Tax Act 1967. She is also a Fellow Member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA). She graduated from Oxford Brookes University with First-Class Honours in BSc (Hons) Degree in Applied Accounting. Additionally, she is a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants and the Chartered Tax Institute of Malaysia.
Nikesh holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Marketing and a Master of Accounting with a specialisation in Forensic Analysis, providing a strong academic foundation for his career in finance and accounting. With over a decade of experience, he has worked with small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and multinational corporations (MNCs) across diverse industries, including education, construction, and coating manufacturing.
In the past five years, Nikesh has focused on taxation, with a particular emphasis on capital statements and high-net-worth personal income tax investigations. He has successfully assisted high-net-worth individuals in explaining and defending their tax investigations through detailed capital statements. His familiarity with tax investigators’ processes, coupled with his expertise, has enabled him to resolve cases effectively and efficiently. His tax work also extends beyond personal taxes for proprietors, linking them seamlessly to their various business interests, ensuring a holistic and strategic approach to tax compliance and planning.

Wei Liang is a Chartered Accountant with 15 years of specialised experience in tax and assurance services, developed through his work with top-tier ‘Big 4’ and prominent international accounting firms. He specialises in Transfer Pricing, where he has been involved in various advisory, audit, and compliance engagements for clients across industries such as Fintech, telecommunications, real estate, energy, education, industrial, and consumer products.
Wei Liang has advised clients on a wide range of transfer pricing matters, including transfer pricing model formulation and price setting, tax planning, transfer pricing due diligence, business restructuring, and the implementation of Base Erosion and Profit Shifting (“BEPS”) Action 13. He has prepared transfer pricing documentation for multinational companies and small to medium enterprises, and developed pricing models for various transactions, including management fee models, intermediary structures for oil and gas contractors, intangible licensing, corporate guarantees, intragroup financial assistance, and leasing arrangements.

He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of East London and is a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants and CPA Australia. Wei Liang is also a licensed company secretary registered with the Companies Commission of Malaysia.
